The Neighbors Helping Neighbors campaign was initiated by the Foothills Community Partnership as a way to encourage members of the community to get involved with local non-profit agencies and help in any way they are able.  The weak economy has affected everyone, including non-profit agencies which had the doubly difficult situation of facing reduced funding and donations at a time when their services were needed more than ever.

On February 25th, the Longleaf Arts Council was formed for the purpose of unifying regional arts organizations. The new Council will provide a regional marketing approach for the Arts within the Mountain Longleaf Region.

Longleaf Arts Council is already ahead of the curve; plans are underway for the annual summer music festival, Music at McClellan, to be held on June 18, 19, and 20th. Music at McClellan Chairman Pete Conroy has made it clear that the organization's focus is on the restoration of the Montieth Amphitheater, which will be the future home of Music @ McClellan and many other events beginning next season.
